An original watercolour of cottages at Mevagissey, Cornwall. I wanted to incorporate the sea glass I found on the beaches in Cornwall into this painting. Mevagissey has narrow streets, a fabulous harbour and lots of quaint cottages, but these are my favourite, found at the end of the inner harbour, their colours make for a classic seaside scene.
I create a painting in acrylic that I fuse to fabric. I add sea glass and each piece of sea glass is worked using embroidery silks with French knots, daisy stitches, couch stitch and many other stitches. As you can imagine, these pieces take a lot of time.
My name is Sarah and with my husband, Andrew, we are Cornish Walking Trails. We upload video to YouTube of our walking adventures in Cornwall.
This piece measure width 34 cm, height 42 cm.
