Product Details
This is my interpretation of Penberth Cove, near Porthcurno in Cornwall. It is one of the most stunning coves in the Penwith area of Cornwall. Also made popular as a tourist destination because it was used in the recent Poldark production, as Sawle Village.
I collect sea glass on our beaches in Cornwall and incorporate it into the art to represent cobbles, rocks or water and sometimes flowers. Each piece of sea glass is unique and can take up to 40 years tumbling in the sea to create a really smooth opaque piece, making this art piece unique. This piece includes sea brick too. The pieces were collected at Polurrian Cove, on the Lizard Peninsula.
For the embroidery, I have used a combination of french knots, daisy or chain stitches, seed stitches and couch stitch to define and create the detail, even adding a few beads too.
The frame was handmade by a framer in Foundry Chapel, Hayle and has been left open to allow you to touch a piece of Cornwall.

This piece measures 31cm wide by 27.5cm in height. FREE UK postage.

Etsy selling fees and taxes are high, and I am able to offer you a saving when you buy through my website.
